It's crazy, this year is marked by a lot of weddings and baby births, seriously it's an absolute Baby Boom kind of year, all of my girl friends are preggo as well :-)
Today I would like to share some tips on which of my personal favorite
wedding dress silhouettes best suits different body shapes.
If you have an upcoming wedding in the near future and are on a lower budget but don't want to pass up on a beautiful dress,
Aisle Style has a lot to offer.
Pear-shape:
If your body has the pear shape, you want to turn the focus onto the narrowest part of your midsection or toward your neckline. Please don't emphasize your hips!
The following dress style would be perfect for you:
- A-line dresses
- Ball Gowns
- Empire Gowns
- Off the shoulder dresses
- Strapless dresses
- Dresses with scoop necklines
- V-neck
- Bateau necklines as they balance smaller chests and narrov shoulders
Keep your fingers away from:
- Mermaid or Trumpet gowns
- Sheath silhouettes
- Clingy fabrics instead go for sturdier ones
Hourglass shape:
You will want- pretty similar to a pear shaped boy- accentuate the smallest point on your waist. To emphasize your curves these dress types will look divine on you:
- A-line dresses
- Off the shoulder dresses
- Mermaid silhouettes or trumpet silhouettes
- Sweetheart necklines
Keep your fingers away from:
- Empire gowns
- Ball gowns
- Sheath silhouettes
- Clingy and tight fabrics
Apple-shape:
If you are blesses with an apple shape make sure to go for a dress that will accentuate the upper bodice or neckline. Go for these flattering silhouettes:
- A-line dresses
- Princess dresses
- Empire waists dresses (even strapless ones)
- Deep V-neck dresses
- Asymmetrical necklines
Keep your fingers away from:
- Ball gowns
- Sheath silhouettes
If you have a more athletic straight body type, make sure to go for a dress that elongate your torso. Following features will do the job for you:
- A-line dresses
- Ball gowns
- Empire waist gowns
- Dresses with spaghetti straps
- Sheath dresses
- Dresses that integrate drop waist skirts as they lenghten your torso
- Mermaid silhouettes or trumpet silhouettes
- Beateau necklines
- Dresses with necklines below your collarbone as they show of your feminity
Keep your fingers away from:
- Princess gowns
- Off-the-shoulder dresses
- Sheath silhouettes
- Basque waists
- Halter tops
Petite Shape:
If you are a woman with a petite and delicate shape you should choose a style that will elongate your body and create length to your bodyline. The simple you keep your gowns the better, so avoid dresses with embellishments and heavy appliqués. Try these features to look breathtaking on your special day:
- Empire waist gowns
- Princess gowns
- A-line gowns
- Mermaid and trumpet silhouettes
- Sheath silhouettes
- Basque waists
- Halter tops
- Cowl-necked dresses
- Sweetheart necklines
Keep your fingers away from:
- Ball gowns
- Dropped waist silhouettes
- high collars
This style works as well for retancle and pear shapes!
I hope you enjoy my favorite styles I have picked.
Have a wonderful week :-)
